Greater Manchester Benefits Website
Clicks and Links were asked to create a website that would sit within the Greater Manchester Online site, which could provide information to people across Greater Manchester about Housing and Council Tax benefits.
Working closely with the client, a website has been produced that acts as a source of useful information that has been produced by a number of Greater Manchester authorities to help you understand Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit. The information is available as HTML or in PDF downloadable files which can be printed or stored locally.
The site also holds a range of features such as an Online Benefits Calculator on which claimants can get an idea of how much money they could receive from their benefits payments. There are also facilities for claimants to change their personal details online and forms with which users can apply for benefit forms from their local authority. A major part of the site is the Benefit Fraud section which includes a form with which users can anonymously (if required) report fraudulent behaviour within the benefits system.
The site has been designed with accessibility in mind and has been approved by the Plain English campaign, an endorsement which is backed-up by the Internet Crystal Mark on the site's front page.

The GM Benefits Homepage
Of the work on the Greater Manchester Benefits Website and also for the application of an online benefit fraud form, Jay Patel of Bolton MBC commented that Clicks and Links, and particularly Designer Graham Ebbrell, "managed to turn our original wish list into a reality and has even exceeded expections by producing something far better than I thought of originally."
Praise was also given for making sure that the site was "backed up by the independent praise we have received about the site from the Plain English Campaign and the award of the Internet Crystal Mark for the webpages."
"For most member authorities (if not all) I believe we have enhanced the information and functionality that was previously on offer to our customers. We hope that this development will continue in future phases with features such as content management system and development of Revenues Pages." - Jay Patel (Bolton MBC)
