e-Innovations
Developed for the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, the focus of the e-Innovation programme is to encourage practical examples of new and innovative approaches to joined-up working, effective service delivery and community engagement, which are sustainable in the long term.
The e-Innovation programme was a ground breaking initiative for government, designed to support experimentation and accommodate learning.

The brief involved developing a new site (www.exploringinnovation.org.uk) to be used as a vehicle to convey the outcomes of the e-innovation project, instead of a detailed report. The solution identified is a scalable (both horizontal and vertical) site structure to accommodate approximately 200 pages. However, the site needed to accommodate organic growth of content over time.
Other requirements included the ability:
- To include audio and video clips within the core content of the site.
- For any user to publish comments on all relevant sections of the site.
- For the end user to access a wide range of links and external resources and to recommend the inclusion of additional resources.
- For members of a particular end user group to read and dynamically update (WIKI style) a discussion paper around a "Framework for Building Innovation in Local Government".
