Digital Inclusion Network

Clicks and Links recently developed the Digital Challenge and Inclusion Network (www.digitalchallenge.gov.uk) for the Department of Communities and Local Government. The Digital Challenge is a competition run by the government aimed at providing a unique incentive for a region to take forward a vision to better meets the needs of its citizens. Enabled by technology, it calls on local authorities in partnership with other public sector, private and third sectors bodies to take radical steps to creating a digitally enabled society.

The Digital Challenge and Inclusion Network represents an online space where those involved in the challenge can collaborate, exchange ideas and share best practice with one another. It is a space for sourcing new technologies, finding partners and for seeking expert advice. Its remit has grown since the onset of the project. However, with our design approach and with the capabilities of our CMS product, this change has been catered for.

Clicks and Links originally scoped out the design requirements for the digital challenge and inclusion Network and was then subsequently invited to tender. Clicks and Links delivered the online network over two phases using the Plone Content Management System. The project has demonstrated our ability to form long term relationships with our clients. It further demonstrates Clicks and Links innovativeness in design and in our technological capabilities. The site contains two databases, one within the project space area of the site, containing all details of the networks participants, and within the supplier directory.
