North West Digital Development Agencies

In 2004 Clicks and Links were tasked to develop an ICT infrastructure suitable for the enablement of collaborative working between the region's Digital Development Agencies (DDAs), North West Development Agency (NWDA) & the North West NODE.

This web-based solution is in the form of an internet-based information system that allows the NWDA, North West NODE and all 5 sub-regional DDAs to share information. Nonetheless whilst utilising a common infrastructure and the same underlying code, each site is fully customisable.

Therefore, as required, individual DDAs can revise the look and feel of their respective site.

The DDA project also provides an overall reporting system that feeds into an online administration area. This enables greater efficiency and transparency of monitoring and evaluation. The reporting data input by each DDA automatically updates the relevant elements of NODE's own site, thereby speeding up the reporting cycle and limiting duplication of reporting input.

Working with our partners, the Photolink Creative Group (brand development and creative design) and the National Computing Centre (live website hosting), Clicks and Links delivered a fully functional and innovative web-based solution within a tight timeframe that provides each DDA with their own, yet complementary presence on the Internet.

Features of each DDA website include:

• Specific DDA related news items refreshed daily
• Incorporates collaboration tools for communities of interest
• Document Library for shared files and information
• Reporting functionality, including 'read only' sight of reports submitted by other DDA's
• Events calendar and diary system
• Online discussion groups (via localised Forums and Chatroom functionality)
• A projects area
• A repository of de Minimis activity
