Plone

Plone is an out-of-the-box ready content management system (CMS) that is built on the powerful Zope Application server. It requires minimal effort to set up, is deeply flexible, and provides a system for managing web content ideal for project groups, communities and intranets.

Plone can be used in a number of ways, for example as:

• Intranet and extranet server
• Document publishing system
• Portal server
• Groupware tool for collaboration between separately located entities.

Plone is built using Zope, an object oriented application server. The language that drives Zope and Plone is Python - the agile language preferred by Google, NASA, Industrial Light and Magic and many others.
